Import Your Data

What you can import

Bring existing data into Plenix from CSV, Excel or JSON — contacts, companies, employees, invoices, inventory and devices — by mapping the columns in your file to Plenix fields. Nothing is re-keyed by hand.

Running an import

1. Go to Import.
2. Choose what you are importing — contacts, companies, employees, invoices, inventory or devices.
3. Upload your file. The first row is treated as the header.
4. Map the columns: match each column in your file to the Plenix field it belongs in. Leave anything you do not want to import unmapped.
5. Preview the result. This shows exactly what will be created, using your real data.
6. Confirm to run the import.

Watching it run

The job shows rows processed against total rows as it goes. Any rows that fail are listed with the reason, so you can fix those specific rows and re-import just them.

Before you import

• Clean the file first. It is far easier to fix a spreadsheet than to unpick a bad import.
• Check for duplicates in your source data — the import creates what you give it.
• Import a small test file first, confirm it looks right, then run the full set.

Tip: Import companies before contacts and employees. Records that reference a company match to one that already exists, so getting the order right saves a second pass.
