Folder Templates
Create a ready-made set of folders in one go, or save any folder structure as a template for your team.
What folder templates are for
A folder template is a folder with its subfolders already laid out, like a client workspace or a financial year. Use one and you get the whole structure in one click, set up the same way every time.
Templates copy folder names only. They never copy files or permissions.
Creating folders from a template
- Go to Documents and open the folder you want the new folders in. Stay on All Documents to create them at the top level.
- Click From Template.
- Pick a template. Its folders are shown on the right.
- Change the New folder name if you like. You can see where it will be created underneath.
- Click Create folders. Documents opens the new folder.
You need permission to add folders where you're creating them.

|---|---|
| Client workspace | Contracts & SOWs, Onboarding, Access & credentials, Meeting notes, Reports |
| Project | 01 Brief & scope, 02 Design, 03 Delivery (with Change requests and Status reports), 04 Handover, 05 Invoices |

Saving your own template
- Set up a folder with the subfolders you want.
- Right-click it, or open its menu, and choose Save as folder template.
- Give the template a name and, if you like, a description.
- Click Save template.
Your template appears under Saved by your team, and everyone who uses Documents can create folders from it. Only the subfolders are saved, up to 6 levels deep and 200 folders.
The person who saved a template, and your administrators, can delete it with the bin icon. Deleting a template doesn't touch folders already made from it.
