View Page Counts

See total and colour page counts for any monitored printer.

Viewing page counts

  1. Go to Monitoring β†’ Printers and open a managed printer.
  2. The Overview tab shows the current counters β€” total, mono and colour pages as last read from the device.
  3. The Usage tab shows those counters over time, which is what tells you the volume printed in a period rather than the lifetime total.

Counters are read off the printer over SNMP by the agent, so they are the printer's own lifetime figures. A printer that is replaced starts from its own counter, not from where the old one stopped.

Page counts and billing

Where a printer is on cost-per-print billing, the volume between readings is what mono and colour rates are applied to, along with any fixed device fee, network support fee and minimum monthly charge on the contract. Those rates are set by Plenix against the printer.

If a printer had usage before it was brought into Plenix, a page count baseline can be set on the record so billing counts from the point the contract started rather than from the meter's lifetime figure.
