AI Procurement Insights

AI analysis of spend, orders and supplier history for sourcing decisions.

What the AI analyses

The AI reads your purchase orders, spend and supplier history to surface cost-saving opportunities, vendor risk and buying patterns. Insights refresh on demand from live purchasing data.

Generating insights

  1. Go to Purchasing β†’ AI Procurement Insights.
  2. Run the analysis. It reads your current purchasing data at that moment.
  3. Review what it surfaces β€” consolidation opportunities, price variance on the same item across suppliers, concentration risk, unusual patterns.

How to treat the output

These are guidance for sourcing decisions, not a system of record. Verify anything before acting on it:

  • Check the underlying orders it drew on.
  • Confirm a "cheaper supplier" is genuinely comparable on specification and lead time.
  • Cross-check risk flags against Purchasing β†’ Supplier Analytics, which is computed from your actual data rather than inferred.

When it is most useful

Insights are strongest where you have volume and history. On a handful of orders, read the orders themselves β€” there is not enough data for a pattern to mean anything.

Tip: Use insights to decide what to look at, then use the real records to decide what to do. That division keeps the AI useful without letting it make purchasing decisions.
