Where the scores come from

Each vendor is scored on on-time delivery, fill rate and spend using your real purchase-order and goods-receipt history. Nothing is entered by hand — the figures update as new orders are received.

What each measure means

• On-time delivery — the share of orders received by the promised date.
• Fill rate — the share of ordered quantity actually received. A supplier who ships 90% of every order twice as fast as anyone else is still a supplier you plan around.
• Spend — total value placed with them, which tells you how much leverage you actually have.

Using it

Spot unreliable suppliers, and concentrate spend with the ones performing. A supplier with poor on-time delivery and a large share of your spend is a supply risk, not just an annoyance.

Accuracy depends on receipts

The scores are only as good as your goods receipts. If receipts are recorded days after delivery, on-time performance will look worse than it is — record receipts when goods arrive.

Tip: Take these figures to a supplier review. A conversation backed by your own delivery data goes very differently to one based on impressions.
