Set Up Email β€” Turn Emails into Tickets

Connect an IMAP/SMTP mailbox so inbound email becomes tickets and replies send from your own address.

Plenix can poll a mailbox over IMAP, turn incoming email into tickets, and send replies back out over SMTP from your own address.

Add a mailbox

  1. Go to Settings β†’ Mailboxes β†’ Add Mailbox.
  2. Enter the mailbox email address and a display name.
  3. IMAP (incoming): host, port (usually 993), username, and password/app-password.
  4. SMTP (outgoing): host, port (usually 587), username, and password.
  5. Save. Plenix tests the connection and begins polling.

What happens next

  • New emails to that mailbox create tickets automatically (or append to an existing ticket when the subject matches).
  • Replies you send from the ticket go out over SMTP from that mailbox, so the customer sees your address.
  • Attachments come across onto the ticket.

Tips

  • Use an app password if your provider requires one for IMAP/SMTP.
  • Keep one mailbox per support queue (e.g. support@, billing@) to route tickets cleanly.
