Backup Monitoring
Track backup job status so a silent failure never goes unnoticed.
What backup monitoring does
Track the status of backup jobs across your managed devices so a silent failure never goes unnoticed. Record schedules, watch last-run outcomes, and flag missed or failed backups before they become a data-loss incident.
Adding a backup job
- Go to Monitoring β Backup Jobs and click Add Backup Job.
- Pick the device and the client company.
- Name the job and record what it backs up.
- Set the expected schedule β how often it should run.
- Save.
Reading the board
Each job shows its last run, the outcome, and whether it is overdue against its schedule. The two things that matter are:
- Failed β it ran and did not work.
- Overdue β it did not run at all. This is the more dangerous of the two, because nothing alerted.
Acting on failures
A failed backup is a ticket, not a note. Raise one against the client so the fix is tracked and visible in your service reporting.
Tip: Set the expected schedule accurately. An overdue flag is only useful if it fires at the right time β a daily job recorded as weekly stays silent for six days too long.
