AI Network Review

Get a plain-English risk review of any network with a score and a prioritised to-do list, and let AI identify devices the rules couldn't.

What it does

AI can help in two ways on the network map:

  • Network review: a plain-English summary of a network. It gives a score out of 100, lists the biggest risks, and gives numbered next steps with how much effort each takes.
  • Identify unknown devices: for devices Plenix couldn't identify, AI suggests the right role (printer, camera, IoT device and so on) from the manufacturer, open ports and SNMP description. The map updates straight away.

Plan: Enterprise (the AI module), on top of Monitoring.

Using it

  • For all networks: go to Network Maps β†’ Insights and use the AI network review card.
  • For one site: open the site's map, then the AI review tab at the bottom.

Click Run review, or Re-run review to refresh it. Click Identify unknown devices to classify devices without a role.

If automatic AI identification is turned on under Discovery settings, unknown devices are also identified after each scheduled scan.

What is sent

  • Network review: device roles, counts, subnets and the findings from Insights.
  • Identification: each unknown device's manufacturer, hostname, open ports and SNMP description.

Credentials, passwords, logged-in users and personal data are never sent.

Your choices always win

A role you set by hand is never changed by AI. AI suggestions are stored separately, so you can always override them in the device panel.

AI output can be wrong. Check a recommendation before you act on it.

If you don't see it

  • "AI review isn't set up on this server yet": AI hasn't been configured for your Plenix environment. Everything else on the map works without it.
  • "AI review is turned off": an administrator can turn it on under Network Maps β†’ Discovery.
  • No buttons: running a review needs technician or administrator access.
