What quality checks do

Record inspection outcomes against production so defects are caught before goods ship. Pass and fail results build a quality history that supports your QMS and highlights recurring problems to fix at source.

Recording a check

1. Go to Production → Quality Checks and click New Check.
2. Link it to the production order it inspects.
3. Record what was checked and against what standard.
4. Record the outcome — pass or fail — and the quantity inspected.
5. For a fail, record the defect found. This is the field that has value six months from now.
6. Save.

After a failure

1. Quarantine the affected units so they cannot ship.
2. Decide: rework, scrap, or accept under concession.
3. Adjust stock accordingly through Inventory → Stock Adjustments if units are scrapped.
4. Look at whether the same defect has appeared before.

Using the history

Recurring defects on the same product or work centre point at a cause — a worn tool, a supplier batch, a process step. That pattern is the real output of this page, not the individual pass mark.

Tip: Record the defect in consistent wording. Free-text descriptions that vary every time make the recurrence invisible, which defeats the purpose of keeping the history.
