Stock Transfers

Move inventory between warehouses with tracked stock movements.

How transfers work

Move inventory between warehouses with a tracked transfer. Completing a transfer posts a stock-out at the source and a stock-in at the destination automatically, so on-hand quantities stay correct at both ends.

Raising a transfer

  1. Go to Inventory β†’ Stock Transfers and click New Transfer.
  2. Pick the source and destination warehouses.
  3. Add the items and quantities to move.
  4. Save. The transfer is created but stock has not moved yet.

Completing it

Mark the transfer Complete when the goods have physically arrived. That is the moment the stock movements post at both locations.

Leaving a transfer open while goods are in transit is intentional β€” it means your on-hand figure at the destination does not claim stock that has not landed.

If quantities do not match on arrival

Complete the transfer for what actually arrived, then raise a stock adjustment at the source for the shortfall with the reason recorded. Do not quietly change the transfer to hide a discrepancy.

Tip: Check available quantity at the source before raising the transfer. A transfer for more than you hold will not reconcile at completion.
