How to Set Up a Managed Service and Assign it to a Client
Create a service in the ERP catalogue, assign it to a client company, and let Plenix handle the contract and recurring billing automatically.
Step 1 β Create the service
- Go to ERP β Services
- Click + New Service
- Fill in:
- Name (e.g. "Enterprise Managed IT")
- Description β what is included
- Category (Managed IT, Cloud, Print, etc.)
- Price and Billing frequency (Monthly / Quarterly / Annual)
- SLA Tier β optional, links to your SLA policy
- Click Save
The service now exists in your catalogue and can be assigned to any number of clients.
Step 2 β Assign to a client
- Open the client's Company profile (CRM β Companies β [company])
- Navigate to the Services tab
- Click Add Service
- Choose the service from your catalogue
- Set the Start date
- Optionally override the price for this client
- Click Assign
Plenix creates a contract record automatically and links it to this company.
Step 3 β Review the contract
- Go to ERP β Contracts β you will see the new contract with status Active
- Click it to review start/end dates, linked service, and notes
- Adjust the end date or renewal terms if needed
You can also reach the contract from the company's Services tab β click the contract link next to the service.
Step 4 β Verify billing
- Open the company profile β Billing tab
- The service appears as a recurring line item
- The next invoice date is shown β this is when the first invoice will auto-generate
Step 5 β Check MRR
- Go to Billing β MRR Dashboard
- New MRR column should reflect the added service value
- Drill in by client or service tier
Removing a service
To cancel a service:
- Company β Services tab β click the service
- Click Cancel / End Service
- Set an end date
- The contract status changes to Cancelled from that date
- MRR decreases from the end date (shown as Churned MRR)
