Data Sources and Your Own Keys (Leads Hub)

Where Leads Hub data comes from, which sources are switched on for your workspace, and how to connect your own Google Places, Apollo or Hunter key so those lookups cost no credits.

Leads Hub combines several data sources. Open CRM β†’ Leads Hub β†’ Data sources to see each one and whether it's available to your workspace.

Included sources

These are managed by Plenix and need nothing from you:

  • Company register: UK registered companies, including industry codes, size band, incorporation date and accounts status.
  • Companies House live: up-to-date details and directors.
  • Map listings: local businesses from OpenStreetMap.
  • Website research: reading companies' public websites.
  • Email finding and verification and Google results (web search for local businesses), where Plenix has these switched on.

A source shown as unavailable is switched off for the moment. Searches keep working with the other sources.

Connect your own key

If you already pay for one of these services, you can connect your own account. Lookups through your own key cost no Leads Hub credits. You pay the provider directly under your agreement with them.

SourceWhat it addsWhere to get a key
Google PlacesLocal business listings with phone numbers, ratings and opening hoursGoogle Cloud console β†’ enable Places API β†’ Credentials β†’ Create API key
ApolloPeople and company data, including job titlesApollo β†’ Settings β†’ Integrations β†’ API
HunterWork email finding and verificationHunter β†’ API β†’ your API key

To connect one:

  1. Administrators only: open Data sources.
  2. On the source, click Use my key.
  3. Paste the API key and save.

Your key is stored encrypted and is used only for your workspace. When your own Hunter key is connected, Leads Hub uses it for every email lookup, ahead of the Plenix-provided finder.

Today, Hunter is the source your own key is used for. You can already save a Google Places or Apollo key, and Leads Hub will start using them in an upcoming release. There's no charge to you until it does. To stop using it, remove the key. Leads Hub goes back to the Plenix-provided source, where available, using credits as normal.

Tip: restrict a Google key to the Places API in the Google Cloud console and set a daily quota, so it can't be used for anything else.
