Advanced Sequences (Leads Hub)

Mix email, SMS, call, LinkedIn and task steps, A/B test with automatic winners, send only in business hours from your own mailboxes, and let replies be sorted and acted on for you.

Advanced sequences are part of the Leads Hub on the Enterprise plan. On every other plan the drip sequence keeps working (email steps, waits, enrolment, open and click tracking), and anyone who replies still leaves the sequence.

Where to find it

Go to CRM β†’ Campaigns and open a campaign's sequence (the checklist icon). The window has five tabs: Steps, Recipients, Replies, Settings and Deliverability.

Steps on any channel

When you add or edit a step, pick its channel:

  • Email: a designed template or your own text, as before.
  • SMS: a text message of up to 640 characters, sent to the contact's mobile number. People with no mobile number move on to the next step.
  • Call, LinkedIn and Task: Plenix creates a CRM task for the campaign owner, due on the day the step is reached, with your notes attached. The sequence then carries on.

A/B testing

On an email step, click Add variant to write up to four alternatives (B to E). The email itself is variant A. A blank subject or body means "same as A". Each recipient always gets the same variant.

Once every variant has reached the minimum number of sends and one is clearly ahead (95% confidence), Plenix sends the winner to everyone still to reach that step. Each step card shows the results per variant. Make winner picks one yourself, and Resume test starts the test again. Editing the variants restarts the test.

Settings

  • Sending window: pick the days, the hours and the time zone. Steps that fall due outside the window wait for the next opening.
  • Random delay: spreads sends by up to the number of minutes you choose, so they don't all arrive at once.
  • Send from these mailboxes: ticked mailboxes take turns sending, so replies land in your own inbox. Only mailboxes with an outgoing server can be ticked. Connect a mailbox first if the list is empty.
  • Daily cap per mailbox and Warm-up ramp: the ramp starts at 20 emails a day and grows by 25% a day until it reaches the cap. Anything over the cap waits until the next day.
  • A/B winner: turn automatic winners on or off, choose whether they are judged on replies, opens or clicks, and set the minimum sends for each variant.
  • Stop on reply: anyone who replies leaves the sequence. Unsubscribe and not-interested replies always stop it.
  • When someone replies: tick what happens for each kind of reply: create a deal, create a task (now or later), notify the owner, send your booking link, or suppress the address. Add your Booking link (https) if you use that action.

Replies

Replies to sequence emails are matched automatically when they reach a connected mailbox. Each reply is sorted as interested, meeting request, not now, not interested, referral, out of office, unsubscribe or other. The Replies tab lists them, filterable by type. Click a reply to open the contact or lead. The Recipients tab also shows the reply type against each person.

Bounces and the circuit breaker

Bounce messages are read automatically. A hard bounce marks the recipient as bounced and suppresses the address from all future sends. If more than 5% of a campaign's emails bounce (after at least 20 sends), the campaign pauses itself. A red banner explains why. Clean the list and check the Deliverability tab, then click Resume sending.

Deliverability

Enter your sending domain to check:

  • SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX records, with a score and a suggested fix for anything missing or weak;
  • list health over the last 30 days: bounce, reply and unsubscribe rates;
  • how much of each mailbox's daily cap is used today.

Every email carries one-click List-Unsubscribe headers, which major inbox providers expect from bulk senders.
