Ideal Customer Profiles (Leads Hub)
Describe the companies you want to win: industries, areas, size, keywords, technology, roles and buying signals, and how the fit score is weighted.
A profile (an ideal customer profile, or ICP) describes the kind of company you want to win. Discover and Monitors use it to score every company from 0 to 100. The higher the score, the closer the company is to your ideal.
Go to CRM β Leads Hub β Profiles.
Start the quick way
- Suggested from your customers. Plenix looks at your paying customers and won deals and suggests profiles that match them, for example "IT services firms in Yorkshire with 10β49 staff". Click one to open it in the editor and adjust.
- Templates. Pick a ready-made starting point.
- Blank. Click New profile and fill it in yourself.
You can have as many profiles as you like, for example one per service you sell or one per region.
Fill in the profile
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name and Description | Something your team will recognise, like "Dental practices β North West". |
| Active | Switch off to hide the profile from Discover and Monitors without deleting it. |
| Industries | Pick from the UK SIC code list. Search by name, e.g. "dental" or "accounting". |
| Areas | Towns, counties or regions. |
| Keywords in name or website | Words that suggest a good fit, e.g. "clinic", "IT support". |
| Exclude businesses mentioning | Words that rule a company out, e.g. "franchise", "recruitment". |
| Technology they use | Software or platforms you can see on their website, e.g. "WordPress", "Microsoft 365". |
| People to reach | The job roles you want to talk to, e.g. "Practice Manager", "Finance Director". Leads Hub looks for these people when you find contacts. |
| Company size | Micro (under 10), Small (10β49), Medium (50β249), Large (250+). |
| Company type | Ltd, PLC, LLP or CIO (charity). |
| Buying signals | Events that suggest now is a good time: Newly incorporated, Accounts overdue, New director, New technology on website. |
Weights: what matters most
Under Weights, slide each factor up or down: Industry, Area, Size, Keywords, Tech stack, Company type and Has a website. A factor set to zero is ignored. For example, if location matters more than size, raise Area and lower Size.
As you fill the profile in, Plenix suggests refinements, such as an industry code your best customers share.
Save
- Save stores the profile.
- Save & find matches stores it and opens Discover with the profile already selected.
Tips
- Start broad, look at the results in Discover, then tighten the profile. It's quicker than guessing.
- Use Exclude for the types of business you never want to see again.
- Buying signals add to the separate intent score, so a perfect-fit company that just changed director floats to the top.
