Enrolment windows
Run a yearly open enrolment or a one-off window: choose the plans, the dates and when the new cover starts.
An enrolment window is a period when people can choose or change the plans in it β for example a yearly open enrolment in November for cover from 1 January.
Create a window
Go to HCM β Benefits β Windows and click New window. Set:
- Name β for example 2027 open enrolment.
- Plans β the plans people can choose or change in this window.
- Opens and closes β the dates choices can be made.
- Cover starts β the date the new choices take effect. If a plan has a waiting period that ends later for someone, their cover starts when it ends.
Opening and closing
A window opens by itself on its start date and closes by itself on its end date. You can also open now, close now or cancel a window from the list.
When a window opens, everyone it affects is told. Three days before it closes, people who have not chosen on its plans get a reminder.
Following progress
Each window shows how many choices have been made and how many people turned plans down. Click a number to open those enrolments. To chase people who have not chosen, open the plan page and use the Eligible but not chosen list.
What happens to the old cover
When the new cover starts, the person's previous cover on the same plan ends the day before. Nobody has two active levels on one plan.
