Benefits overview

How benefits work in Plenix: plans and levels of cover, who can join, enrolment windows, choices, life events, payroll deductions and total rewards statements.

Benefits holds the benefit plans your company offers, who is on them, and what they cost. Open it from HCM β†’ Benefits in the sidebar. It is part of the HCM module, so it is on the Business and Enterprise plans. Plans and prices have not changed.

What is in it

  • Overview β€” what needs doing: choices and life events waiting for HR, windows that are open, and people who have not chosen yet. Every tile opens the list behind it.
  • My benefits β€” every employee's own page: the plans they can join, their choices, dependants, life events and their total rewards statement.
  • Plans β€” set up plans, levels of cover, prices and who can join. Each plan has its own page with its members.
  • Windows β€” enrolment windows, such as a yearly open enrolment.
  • Enrolments β€” every choice, with filters by status, plan and window. Approve or decline choices here.
  • Life events β€” changes people report, such as a birth or a marriage, for HR to approve.
  • Deductions β€” the monthly list for payroll.
  • Analytics β€” participation and cost by plan, category and department.
  • Settings β€” approval, how long new starters and life events have to choose, and more.

HR sees every tab. Everyone else sees the overview and their own benefits.

When people can choose

People can choose or change a plan only when choices are open for them:

  1. In an enrolment window that includes the plan.
  2. When they start β€” for a set number of days after their start date (30 by default).
  3. After a life event HR has approved β€” for a set number of days (30 by default).

Outside those times the plan shows when choices next open. HR can enrol anyone at any time.

Who can see what

  • A person's choices, dependants, life events and statement are seen only by them and HR.
  • Only HR sees plan members, deductions and analytics.
  • In Settings you choose whether employees see what the company pays towards their benefits.

Older records

Benefit records from before this release are kept. HR can open them from Older benefit records at the top of the page.
