Pay gaps, quartiles and like for like
See pay gaps by gender, ethnicity, disability, age band, department, branch, employment type or pay band; read pay quartiles and compare groups inside the same role.
Pay gaps
Open Pay equity β Pay gaps and pick a grouping: gender, ethnicity, disability, age band, department, branch, employment type or pay band. Age bands come from date of birth.
For each group you see people, mean and median hourly pay, the mean and median gap against the reference group, and the average compa-ratio. Click Compare to this to change the reference. Export CSV downloads the table; small groups export as "too few".
Gender pay gap figures
With Gender picked, and on the Overview, you also see the mean and median hourly gap between women and men, the mean and median bonus gap (approved and paid bonuses in the 12 months before the date), and the share of women and men who got a bonus β the figures UK gender pay gap reporting asks for. If too few women or men have given their gender, no gap is worked out.
Pay quartiles
Everyone is sorted by hourly pay and split into four equal bands. Each bar shows the share of each group in that band.
Like for like
A company-wide gap can come from who does which job rather than different pay for the same job. Like for like compares groups inside the same job title or pay band, using each group's median hourly pay against the largest group in that role.
- Pick what to compare and whether to group by job title or pay band.
- A role is compared only when at least two groups are big enough to show.
- Roles with a gap at or above the flag level (5% by default) are flagged. Tick Only roles with a gap to see just those.
