Performance overview (reviews, 1:1s, feedback)

How review cycles, 1:1 meetings and feedback fit together in HCM, who sees what, and the settings that control them.

Performance brings reviews, 1:1 meetings and feedback together in one place. Open it from HCM β†’ Performance in the sidebar. It is part of the HCM module, so it is on the Business and Enterprise plans. Plans and prices have not changed.

Every figure on the overview opens the list behind it. Click a person's name to see their summary: review history, ratings, 1:1s and feedback in one place.

Who sees what

  • HR (HR roles and tenant admins) sets up templates and cycles, calibrates and releases ratings, and can see every review, 1:1 and piece of feedback.
  • Managers β€” anyone with direct reports β€” see their reports' reviews and their own 1:1s.
  • Everyone sees their own review, the peer reviews they were asked to write, their own 1:1s, public praise and the feedback written to or by them.
  • Private 1:1 notes are seen only by the person who wrote them. HR cannot see them.

Who manages whom comes from the manager on each employee record in HCM β€” the same link the org chart uses.

Feedback and praise

Click Give feedback to praise a colleague on the public wall, tagged with one or more company values, or to send private feedback that only they, their manager and HR can read. Click Ask for feedback to request it from colleagues; requests sent to you appear on the Feedback tab, where you can Answer or Decline them. Answers to a request stay private.

Settings

HR can set the company values used to tag praise, the rating scale (3 to 10 points) and the label for each rating point (for example "Meets expectations").

Reminders

People with a review due get a reminder each morning until it is submitted, and both sides of a 1:1 are reminded the day before. HR can also remind everyone still outstanding in a cycle from the cycle page.

Automations

Workflow rules can react to performance events β€” a cycle launched or closed, a review submitted, a 1:1 booked or completed, and feedback given.
